SHEBOYGAN – Aaron Scheets took fourth place in the 100-yard backstroke for Marshfield’s top finish Saturday as the Tigers boys swimming team placed sixth out of nine teams at the Sheboygan South Red Wing Invitational.
Scheets swam the 100 in a time of 1:02.37, and teammate Tom Stevning-Roe was seventh in the same race with a time of 1:02.89.
Scheets also took eighth in the 200 freestyle (2:04.73) and was part of the 400 freestyle relay team, along with Peder Kling, Michael Josephson and Ade Dillon, which finished fifth with a time of 3:44.23.
“We had excellent swims from all team members,” Marshfield coach Faye Egger said. “In this competitve atmosphere we were able to drop a ton of time.”
Dillon was fifth in the 100 butterfly (58.9 seconds); Josephson was sixth in the 500 freestyle (5:44.94); and Kling was sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:17.43) and seventh in the 100 free (55.24).
The 200 medley relay team of Stevning-Roe, Kling, Dillon and Tate Ellis also finished seventh in a time of 1:55.24.
The 400 free relay B team was 10th in a time of 3:57.67. The team was comprised of Jake Akin, Ellis, Stevening-Roe and Nick Guzowski.
The Tigers will be back in action Thursday at Wisconsin Rapids, and will have their final home meet of the season Jan. 28 against Stevens Point.
