RIB MOUNTAIN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys cross country team placed second, with all six of its top runners finishing in the top 28 at the Edgar Invitational on Tuesday at Nine Mile Recreation Area.
Peyton Nystrom led the way for the Dons boys, finishing sixth in 17:44.8, one minute behind winner Trey Ulrich of Medford. Jeremiah Giles was 12th (18:26.6) and Josh Guyer took 13th (18:28.9) for the Dons’ other top 15 finishes.
Medford swept the team titles, scoring 35 points on the boys side and 31 in the girls standings. The Columbus boys were second with 82 points, while the Dons girls finished sixth with 158 points.
Marissa Ellenbecker of Edgar won the girls race in 18:58.2, a full minute ahead of Savannah Schley of Loyal/Greenwood.
Columbus’ top finisher was Marissa Immerfall, who placed 17th in 22:41.5.
