GREEN BAY – The 2017 WIAA Girls Volleyball Tournament concluded Saturday, Nov. 4, with four divisional championship matches at Resch Center.
Burlington outlasted previously unbeaten River Falls 3-2 in the Division 1 championship match, capturing its third state title. Burlington, participating in its eighth state tournament in the past nine years, also won titles in 2011 and 2012.
Lakeside Lutheran of Lake Mills (Division 2) and Lake Country Lutheran of Hartland (Division 3) each won its first state title in program history.
Clayton won the Division 4 title after topping four-time defending champion Wausau Newman Catholic in a semifinal match. The state title was the third for Clayton to go along with ones in 1990 and 1996.
