MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tennis Association hosted its annual Marshfield Doubles Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at the Boson Courts at Marshfield High School.
A total of 50 players from ages 9 to 69 participated in five divisions.
Garry Koehler and Tom Duncan won the Men’s A title (nine teams) by beating Kurt Hendrickson and Grant Reckner 6-4, 7-5, in the championship match.
Dave Droste and Doug Reckner won the consolation bracket by beating Duane Pupp and Shannon Denzine 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
Ron Hertel and Jon Ohnesorge won the Men’s B round robin bracket (four teams) with a 3-0 record and a perfect 6-0 set record.
In the Women’s division (eight teams), Ali Luedtke and Beth Trudeau defeated Holly Reckner and Renee Wesolowski 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to win the title.
Elizabeth Manlick and Haley Orella beat Janet Orella and Angie Seubert 6-2, 6-1 to win the consolation women’s bracket.
In the Mixed A bracket (seven teams), Maria Anderson and Scott Sikora defeated Tanya Sternitsky and Tom Duncan 6-2, 6-2 to take the championship. In the consolation bracket final, Taylor Varsho and Garry Koehler defeated Holly and Doug Reckner 6-1, 6-3.
Ali and Len Luedtke won the Mixed B division (seven teams) by beating Lynette and Duanne Pupp 6-4, 0-6, 7-5. McKenzie Gotz and Eric Hansen won the consolation bracket, defeating Beth Trudeau and Derek Fogarty 7-5, 6-2.
Next summer the Marshfield Tennis Association will host the Marshfield Doubles Tournament on June 11-12 and its Marshfield Open Tournament on July 23-24.
