OSHKOSH – Oshkosh West had four players in double figures and outscored Marshfield by 18 points in the second half to pull away for an 84-58 victory in the boys basketball season opener for both teams on Friday night at Oshkosh West High School.
West led 39-31 at halftime before a 45-27 advantage in the second half buried the Tigers.
Reed Miller scored 14 points and Seth Anderson added 12 points for Marshfield.
Marshfield made 10 3-pointers, four from Miller and three by Tommy Olson, but West countered with 12 makes from long-range, and made all 13 of its free throw attempts. The Tigers were only 12 of 21 from the line.
Luke Haasl had 17 points, and Karter Thomas and Tony Lancaste each had 14 for the Wildcats.
Marshfield plays Oshkosh North at West on Saturday.
