College roundup: Four former Marshfield athletes wrapping up collegiate careers

A number of former local high school athletes have moved on to the next level and are playing sports collegiately across the country.

Periodically, MarshfieldAreaSports.com will publish a College Sports Roundup updating readers of some of those local athletes’ exploits at the collegiate level.

This edition focusses on four former Marshfield High School athletes who are wrapping up their collegiate careers in various sports.

Elizabeth Holbrook

Holbrook swimming at La Crosse
Elizabeth Holbrook, a 2014 graduate of Marshfield High School, is a senior on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women’s swimming and diving team.

The Eagles are in the midst of their season that carries into March.

Holbrook has been a versatile member of the UWLC team, swimming in four different events over the course of the season that began in late October.

Holbrook had season-bests of 5:11.73 in the 400-meter individual medley and 2:40.25 in the 200 breaststroke at the Luther College Invitational on Nov. 18 in Decorah, Iowa.

Holbrook also had a season-best time of 2:24.87 in the 200 IM and 1:13.96 in the 100 breaststroke at the All-Wisconsin Showcase in Brown Deer on Oct. 21.

La Crosse’s season continues at the Rochester (Minn.) Invitational on Friday through Sunday.

Sara Fuller

Voss, Fuller wrap up cross country careers
Rebecca Voss and Sara Fuller, both 2014 Marshfield High School grads, recently finished up their cross country careers.

Voss, a senior at UW-La Crosse, finished fifth at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Oct. 28 at UW-Whitewater, finishing in 22:30.5 as the Eagles took second in the team standings behind Eau Claire.

Voss went on to take sixth at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional in Rock Island, Ill., on Nov. 11, running in 20:56.7 as La Crosse took third and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships. At the national meet in Elsah, Ill., on Nov. 18, Voss took 97th place in 22:12.30.

Fuller, a senior for UW-Whitewater, was 47th at the WIAC meet in 24:46.0 and 153rd at the Division III regionals in 24:03.9.

Darian Molter

Molter ends career at Winona
Darian Molter, who graduated from Marshfield High School in 2014, recently completed her career for the Winona State University women’s soccer team.

The senior forward started all 19 games this season for the Warriors, who finished 9-9-1 ovearll and 8-6-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Winona State had its season end with a 3-2 loss to Bemidji State in the first round of the NSIC Tournament on Nov. 1.

Molter scored four goals and had three assists, to finish with 11 total points for the Warriors, ranking second on the team in all three categories. She finishes her career 13 goals and seven assists as she started 36 of the 59 games she played in.
