MARSHFIELD – Ryan Krueger scored a hat trick in the first 21 minutes of the game to help Marshfield build a big lead and the Tigers went on to beat Mosinee 8-3 in a nonconference boys hockey game Tuesday at the Marshfield Area Ice Arena.
Krueger scored three goals in a 10-minute stretch, and Tyler Spaeth added another, to put Marshfield up 4-1.
Nick Urban added two more goals, and Evan Weister and Isaac Wellens also scored for the Tigers (7-7).
“We had a good game tonight all around after a two bad losses last week,” Marshfield coach Eric Bowman said. “Our power play produced and we found some secondary scoring. We feel like things are coming together for the second half of the season and hope to carry some momentum into a big weekend game against Ashland on Saturday night.”
A.J. Trierweiler had 22 saves in goal for Marshfield.
