A number of former local high school athletes have moved on to the next level and are playing sports collegiately across the country.
Periodically, MarshfieldAreaSports.com will publish a College Sports Roundup updating readers of some of those local athletes’ exploits at the collegiate level.
Fravert starting at UW-Oshkosh
Adam Fravert, a 2016 graduate of Marshfield High School, is a sophomore on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh men’s basketball team.
Fravert has started all 11 games for the Titans, who were 10-1. After winning their first 10 games, the Titans suffered an 83-80 loss to Ripon on Dec. 30.
The 6-foot-8 forward is averaging 14.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, while shooting 55.9 percent overall from the field. Fravert scored a season-high 25 points in an 87-50 win over St. Mary’s (Minn.) on Dec. 29, and had 22 points, making 10 of 13 free throws and a pair of 3-pointers, in a 12-point win over Edgewood College on Nov. 22.
Fehrenbach, Fleischmann playing at Viterbo
Ema Fehrenbach, a 2017 graduate of Marshfield High School, is a freshman on the Viterbo University women’s basketball team in La Crosse.
Fehrenbach, a Wisconsin Valley Conference Player of the Year for Marshfield last season, has played in seven games for Viterbo, averaging 12 minutes, 2.4 points, and 2.1 rebounds per game.
The Viterbo women’s team is off to a 4-11 start.
Jared Fleischmann, a 2014 graduate of Columbus Catholic High School, is a senior on Viterbo’s men’s basketball team.
Fleischmann, a 6-foot guard, has started all 15 games this season for the V-Hawks, averaging 30.7 minutes, 10 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He leads Viterbo (8-7) with 5.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game, and is shooting a team-best 82.1 percent from the free throw line.
Both the Viterbo men’s and women’s teams play at Mayville State (N.D.) on Jan. 5.
