Hot-shooting Owen-Withee comes back to beat Columbus Catholic girls basketball

OWEN – Owen-Withee stormed back from a two-point halftime deficit to down Marshfield Columbus Catholic 60-50 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Friday night at Owen-Withee High School.

Columbus Catholic led 30-28 at halftime before the Blackhawks came back with a 12-point advantage in the second half to pull out the victory.

Owen-Withee (11-4, 9-3 Cloverbelt East) made 10 3-pointers in the win, including six by Brianna Simington, who finished with a game-high 22 points. Jennifer Wendler added 18 points for the Blackhawks.

Addison Baierl had 15 points for Columbus Catholic (10-6, 7-5 Cloverbelt East).

The Dons return to action Thursday at home against Gilman.
