ANTIGO – Emma Haugen had three top-three finishes to help lift the Marshfield gymnastics team to a third-place finish at the Antigo Invitational on Saturday at Antigo High School.
Manitowoc won three of the four events and placed first in the Maroon Division team standings with 131.6 points. Marshfield was third with 128.325 points.
Haugen took second in the floor exercise (8.725), and was third in the vault (8.6) and uneven bars (8.05), on her way to a sixth-place finish in the all-around competition with 32.675 total points.
Manitowoc’s Brynn Tackett won the floor exercise and uneven bars as she took first in the all-around with 35.15 points.
“The girls felt like they hit most of their routines, though we continued to struggle some on beam,” Marshfield coach Allie Dryer said. “We still have a few athletes out with injury, and are anxiously awaiting all to be healthy again.”
Melanie Hafenbredl tied Haugen for third in the uneven bars, and Brooke McGrath finished fifth in the floor (8.55) and the vault (8.55) for Marshfield’s other top-five finishes.
Marshfield will travel to Medford on Thursday and will return to Antigo for its final Great Northern Conference dual meet on Feb. 6.
