Free throws push Auburndale boys basketball past Rib Lake

RIB LAKE – The Auburndale boys basketball team kept its hold on first place in the Marawood Conference South Division with a 61-46 victory over Rib Lake in a Marawood crossover on Friday night at Rib Lake High School.

Auburndale (15-3, 11-2 Marawood South) overcame a tough shooting night by making 23 of 30 free throws.

The Apaches shot just 39 percent (17 of 44) from the field, but were able to put the game away at the line.

Cale Jacoby scored 17 points, and Cameron Ertl made all seven of his free throws and finished with 14 points for Auburndale in the victory.

Auburndale has a week off before hosting Prentice on Feb. 9.
