STRATFORD – Stratford held Chequamegon to 12 points in the first half as it built a 19-point lead and rolled to a 62-31 victory in a Marawood Conference boys basketball crossover game Friday night at Stratford High School.
The Tigers raced out to a 31-12 lead and outscored Chequamegon by 12 in the second half to maintain their big lead and cruise to their sixth-straight victory.
Benjamin Barten scored 22 points, making 11 of 13 shots from the field, to lead the Tigers, which had 11 different players score in the victory.
Stratford is now 16-3 overall and 11-3 in the Marawood South. The Tigers play a nonconference game at Pittsville on Tuesday before playing at Marathon on Feb. 16. Marathon and Stratford are tied for second place in the conference, one game behind Auburndale.
