STRATFORD – Chelsey Gliniecki scored 14 of her game-high 18 points in the second half as the Stratford girls basketball team held off Auburndale 49-41 its Marawood Conference South Division season-finale Tuesday night at Stratford High School.
Stratford (13-8, 12-4 Marawood South) ran out to a 25-10 lead by halftime before Auburndale mounted a comeback, which came up short in the end.
Taya Nett added eight points, making two of the Tigers’ six 3-pointers in the victory.
Mackenzie Raab scored 12 points and Natalie Aue added 10 for the Apaches (12-9, 7-8 Marawood South), who missed nine of their 13 free throw attempts in the loss.
Stratford wraps up its regular-season schedule Thursday at Crandon. Auburndale plays its final Marawood South and regular-season game Saturday at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
