Auburndale boys basketball knocks off Nekoosa

NEKOOSA – Auburndale overcame a poor shooting game to outlast Nekoosa 61-50 in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday night at Nekoosa High School.

The Apaches shot just 35 percent (19 of 54), but were 14 of 17 at the free throw line to provide the difference. Nekoosa (0-19) made just 3 of 6.

Colton Wright made 5 of 10 3-pointers to score a game-high 18 points to lead Auburndale, which won its ninth-straight game to improve to 17-3 this season.

Auburndale hosts Edgar in its regular-season home finale on Friday.
