WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Emma Haugen won the uneven bars and was second in the vault to help Marshfield to a third-place finish at the Great Northern Conference Large School Gymnastics Meet on Saturday at Lincoln High School.
Haugen won the bars with a score of 8.6, was second in the floor exercise (8.85) and fifth in the vault (8.9) to take third in the all-around (34.3) for the Tigers.
Marshfield finished with 132.075 points, just 2 points in back of champion Stevens Point. Ashland was second with 133.25 points.
“We had a good day, one of our best bar sets of the season,” Marshfield coach Allie Dryer said. “We know going into sectionals our area to improve is beam, and are hoping to hit beam at sectionals.”
Senior Macey Smith took third in the uneven bars with an 8.2 and was eighth in the all-around with 32.6 total points for the Tigers.
Brooke McGrath finished fourth in floor (8.65) and Melanie Hafenbredl was sixth in the uneven bars (8.1) as well for Marshfield.
Marshfield will compete at the WIAA Division 1 sectional on Feb. 24 at Wisconsin Rapids.
