BOWLER – The Columbus Catholic girls basketball team had its season come to an end with a hard-fouth 54-49 loss to Bowler in a WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal Friday night at Bowler High School.
Columbus Catholic (12-11) fell behind 33-18 at halftime and closed to within two late, but couldn’t come all the way back.
The Dons’ top scorer, senior Marissa Immerfall, was held without a made field goal and finished with just five free throws. Addison Baierl had 13 points, and Morgan Albrecht and Maren Seefluth each added 10 for Columbus.
Reanne Kiehinski led all scorers with 27 points for Bowler as she made three 3-pointers and was 6 of 8 at the free throw line.
Bowler (17-7) moves into a regional final at No. 1 seed Tri-County (22-2) on Saturday night.
