GALE – The Stratford girls basketball team’s run in the WIAA playoffs came to an end Monday night with a 59-34 loss to Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau in a Division 3 regional final at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School.
After starting the season 1-5, Stratford rallied to win 14 of its next 19 games to finish second in the Marawood Conference South Division (12-4) and ended up 15-10 overall after two playoff wins.
Stratford made just 10 of 37 shots overall in theloss.
Blaire Linder had nine points, and Chelsey Gliniecki had eight points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers.
G-E-T (20-4) moves into a sectional semifinal Thursday against Wisconsin Dells (23-1) at Osseo-Fairchild. The winner will play in a sectional final, and for a berth in the state tournament, on Saturday at Chippewa Falls.
