Marshfield boys tennis knocks off Wausau East

WAUSAU – Marshfield won all three doubles matches in straight sets, losing just seven games in total, and defeated Wausau East 5-2 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys tennis match Thursday at East High School.

Jared Cordova and Braedon Corteen won 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles, Will Fay and Ayush Shukla won 6-0, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles, and Craig Paulman and Lucas Paulman also won by a 6-0, 6-2, score at No. 3 doubles for Marshfield.

Evan Fait at No. 1 singles and Calvin Lawler at No. 3 singles both picked up straight-set victories as well for the Tigers (2-0 WVC).

Marshfield will compete at the Appleton West Invitational on Saturday.
