HOLMEN – The Marshfield softball team swept a nonconference doubleheader against previously undefeated Holmen, rolling to 12-1 and 8-3 victories to improve to 7-2 this season.
In Game 1, Marshfield scored six times in the top of the second inning and put the game away in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Kate Konrardy earned the win with a complete-game effort.
Emily Draeger and Jenna Jakobi each had three hits and two RBIs to lead the Marshfield offense. Megan Donahue and Rhiannon Corozolla each added two hits and two RBIs, and Jordan Pretsch also had two hits and scored twice for the Tigers.
In the second game, Taylor Barwick picked up the victory as she allowed three runs in four innings.
Donahue, Jenna Jakobi, Brianna Jakobi and Pretsch each had two hits for the Tigers.
Marshfield will compete at a quadrangular at Stevens Point on Saturday. Chippewa Falls and Kenosha Tremper will also be at the tournament.
