Auburndale softball pounds Edgar

EDGAR – The Auburndale softball team grabbed its first Marawood Conference South Division victory of the season with a 14-2 rout of Edgar on Tuesday.

The Apaches scored 10 times in the top of the third inning to break open a tie game.

Abby Koopman had three RBIs, and Alexis Soppe, Hannah Bolder, Natalie Aue and Mackenzie Raab each drove in three runs for the Apaches. Bolder and Aue had three hits each.

Soppe earned the victory, allowing two runs in four innings. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Auburndale (2-4, 1-4 Marawood South) hosts Edgar on Thursday.
