STEVENS POINT – Marshfield had four top-three finishes and ended up in fifth place at the 2018 Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Track Relays on Tuesday at Goerke Field on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus.
Stevens Point won nine of the 15 events and finished with 123.93 points to take the team title. Marshfield was fifth with 71.93 points.
The Tigers’ top finish came from the 3,200-meter relay team of Paul Fischer, Jordan Dzikowich, Micha Jensen, and Carter Chojnacki, which took second in 8:45.25.
The sprint medley relay team of Sam Hinson, Caden Pearce, Adam Elhendy-Gunnarsson, and Addison Hill took third in 3:52.61 for Marshfield.
Marshfield also got third-place individual finishes from Eric Kubash in the 110-meter hurdles (16.39) and Joey Goettl in the triple jump (41 feet, 5½ inches).
Marshfield will compete at the Gene Noonan Invitational at Wisconsin Rapids on Friday.
