Marshfield boys tennis knocks off Wisconsin Rapids, moves to 4-0 in WVC

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys tennis team improved to 4-0 in Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meets with a 5-2 win over Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday at Lincoln High School.

The Tigers won all three doubles matches and Eric Myklejord (No. 3) and Luke Kaiser (No. 4) were victorious in singles, all in straight sets.

Marshfield will look to complete its second-straight undefeated WVC regular-season with its conference dual meet finale May 10 at home against Wausau West.

Jared Cordova and Braedon Corteen won at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-2; Craig Paulman and Lucas Paulman rolled to a 6-0, 6-1, victory at No. 2 doubles; and Will Fay and Ayush Shukla shutout their opponents 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 doubles for Marshfield.

Marshfield will compete at the Wausau West Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
