WAUSAU – For the second time in four days, the Auburndale baseball team pounded Wausau Newman Catholic, completing a season sweep of the Cardinals with a 13-2 victory on Monday at Brockmeyer Park.
Auburndale put the game away with a five-run fifth inning, ending the game via the 10-run rule.
Six different Auburndale players had hits, including two by Cam Ertl, who also had two RBIs.
Aiden Soppe and Colton Wright both added two RBIs as the Apaches took advantage of 14 walks in the five-inning game.
Fletcher Raab threw a complete game to earn the victory for Auburndale, striking out three and allowing just two hits.
Auburndale plays at home against Stratford at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
