EDGAR – The Auburndale girls won six events, including all four relays, and finished second at the H.A> Schultz Track & Field Invitational on Monday at Edgar High School.
Edgar won both team titles. The Auburndale girls were second and Marshfield Columbus Catholic took seventh, while the Auburndale boys finished fifth and Columbus was eighth.
Isabella Jewell and Julianna Kollross won individual events for the Auburndale girls. Jewell took first in the 400 meters in 1:03.74 and Kollross won the pole vault with a vault of 8 feet, 6 inches.
The Apaches took first in all four relays, continuing a strong showing this spring in those events.
Paityn Hamus, Maddie Krings, Katelyn Trowbridge and Isabelle Hilber won the 400 relay (52.90) and the 800 relay (2:14.38); Jewell, Hamus, Karli Karl and Hilber took first in the 1,600 relay (4:14.56); and the 3,200 relay team of Vanessa Mitchell, Macie Schmeiser, Lily Kloos, and Karl was first in 10:26.57.
Amanda Momont took second in the triple jump (31-7½) and Schmeiser finished second in the 400 (1:04.66) for the Apaches.
Jessica Jakopin had Columbus Catholic’s top finishes, winning the shot put with a throw of 36-9½, and taking fourth in the discus with a toss of 94-8.
The Auburndale boys had three third-place finishes – Gage Stoflet in the 400 (54.39), Paul Kollross in the 800 (2;16.74), and Joshua Guyer in the 1,600 (5:06.66).
Jeremiah Giles had the Columbus Catholic boys top finish, taking fourth in the 300 hurdles (48.19).
Auburndale will compete at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Friday before competing at the Marawood Conference South Division Meet on Monday, May 14, at Marathon. Columbus Catholic is off until the Cloverbelt Conference Meet at Colby on May 15.
