STRATFORD – The Stratford baseball and softball teams topped Auburndale in Marawood Conference South Division action Thursday.
Stratford won the baseball game 1-0 and the softball game 14-8.
In baseball action at the Tiger Stadium field, Auburndale (6-5, 5-5 Marawood South) was held to three hits.
Colton Wright took the loss, striking out four and allowing just the one run on four hits in a complete-game effort for the Apaches, who have finished their Marawood South schedule.
Stratford statistics were not reported.
The first three innings of the softball game were a slugfest as the Tigers took an 11-6 lead after three, scoring five times in the first and adding three more in both the second and third innings.
Things settled a little from there as Stratford (8-5, 6-1 Marawood South) held on.
Maggie Willfahrt and Abby Koopman each had three hits for Auburndale (4-7, 3-7 Marawood South).
Pagie Kolbeck had three hits and two RBIs, McKenzie Ford had three RBIs, and Sydney Boeger ahd two hits and two RBIs for Stratford.
Kiana Weiler earned the win, striking out three in seven innings.
