Spencer boys second, girls fourth at Abbotsford Track Invitational

ABBOTSFORD – The Spencer boys finished second and the girls took fourth at the 10-team Abbotsford Track & Field Invitational on Thursday at Abbotsford High School.

Rib Lake won the boys team title with 146.5 points, with Spencer second with 108 points.

Colby took first in the girls team standings with 122 points, with Rib Lake second (87), Abbotsford third (81), and Spencer was fourth (70).

The Spencer boys had four first-place finishes. Collin Nieman won the 800 meters in 2:12.68, Aaron Pankratz was first in the 400 in 51.70 seconds, the 1,600 relay team of Mason Barth, Nieman, Adam Walter and Pankratz won in 3:44.52, and Barth won the pole vault with a vault of 10 feet.

The Spencer girls also grabbed four first-place finishes. Sabrina Vircks won the high jump (5-0), Dalaney Eichman was first in the pole vault (8-0), Hannah Zastrow took first in the 100 hurdles (16.36), and the 400 relay team of Eichman, Zastrow, Kaily Northup and Sydney Johnson won in 53.81 seconds.
