Stratford baseball shut out at Phillips

PHILLIPS – A day after winning 1-0 against Auburndale, the Stratford baseball team suffered a 1-0 loss at Phillips in a nonconference game Friday.

The Tigers were held to four hits, all singles, by Phillips pitcher Collin Krause.

Chandler Schmidt was the tough luck losing pitcher for Stratford, allowing one run, three hits and three walks.

Austin Edwards went 2-for-3 and scored the Loggers’ lone run on a single by Jake Giannoni in the fourth inning.

Stratford (5-5) plays a Marawood Conference South Division doubleheader at Edgar on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
