Columbus Catholic softball splits at Royal Rumble

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic softball team split two games at the Royal Rumble, hosted by Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, on Saturday.

The Dons rolled past Rosholt 11-1 and lost to Barneveld 17-7.

Addison Baierl picked up the win against Rosholt, allowing just one hit and two walks, while striking out four.

Zoe Stratman went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, Annie Baierl added a triple and two RBIs, and Sophia Mauney, Ella Schultz and Addison Baierl each had two hits in the win for the Dons.

Schultz took the loss against Barneveld.

Brooke Neider had two doubles and three RBIs, Maren Seefluth went 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and scored twice, and Schultz, Addison Baierl Ashley Herman each added RBIs for Columbus Catholic (3-10).

The Dons are off until Thursday when they play a Cloverbelt Conference East Division doubleheader at Spencer beginning at 4 p.m.
