STRATFORD – Matt Handrick had a double and three RBIs, and Devyn Palmer ripped a home run to lift the Stratford baseball team to a 9-5 win over Chequamegon in a nonconference game Friday at the Tiger Stadium Field.
Stratford (10-5) scored twice in the first and added six more in the second to take a commanding lead.
Chandler Schmidt threw six strong innings for the Tigers, striking out seven. He also had two hits and scored twice in the victory.
Lance Heidmann added two hits and scored twice as well for Stratford.
The Tigers will finish their regular-season schedule with a nonconference game at Rib Lake on Tuesday. Stratford will host Colby in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal on Thursday.
