TREMPEALEAU – The Columbus Catholic/Spencer boys golf team was eliminated from the postseason after finishing 10th at the WIAA Division 2 regional on Tuesday. The meet was hosted by Arcadia.
West Salem (335), Chippewa Falls McDonell/Eau Claire Regis (337), Neillsville/Loyal (341) and Black River Falls (359) earned the sectional qualifying team spots after finishing in the top four. Columbus Catholic/Spencer was 10th with a score of 428.
Nate Knoeck led Columbus/Spencer with a 98, finishing in a tie for 34th.
Sawyer Schmidt of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau was the meet medalist, shooting a 77 and finishing two shots better than West Salem’s Ethan Beal.
The sectional is May 29 at Inshalla Country Club in Tomahawk.
