Marshfield track athlete Meg Bryan has been voted as the WDLB-WOSQ Radio & MarshfieldAreaSports.com May High School Athlete of the Month.
The High School Athlete of the Month Award is sponsored by Cost Cutters Family Hair Care and Burt Trophy & Awards.
Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award: Abbotsford, Athens, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marathon, Marshfield, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, Pittsville, Spencer, Stratford and Thorp.
Bryan received 39 percent of the nearly 1,100 votes cast.
Other nominees for the May award were: Spencer softball player Tiffany Meinders, Stratford baseball player Lance Heidmann, Auburndale track athlete Kali Karl, and Edgar track athlete Karson Butt.
Bryan, a senior, placed third in the girls long jump (18 feet, ¼ inch) at the WIAA Division 1 sectional on May 24 at D.C. Everest to earn a spot in the WIAA state track meet for the second year in a row. She won the triple jump at the regional on May 21 at Wausau East with a jump of 36-4¼, and took fourth in the long jump (16-7¾), and was second in both the triple jump (34-9¼) and the long jump (16-7) at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet on May 15 at Wausau East. She went on to place ninth at the WIAA state meet in the long jump.
The winner of the WDLB-WOSQ Radio & MarshfieldAreaSports.com High School Athlete of the Year will be announced Monday, July 10.

Bryan joins Columbus Catholic boys soccer player Nadim Torbey (September), Marshfield cross country runner Joseph McKee (October), Marshfield boys basketball player Seth Anderson (November), Auburndale boys basketball player Cale Jacoby (December), Marshfield boys hockey player Ryan Krueger (January), Owen-Withee girls basketball player Jennifer Wendler, Marathon boys basketball player Nathan Stoffel (March), and Marshfield softball player Megan Donahue (April) as winners of the award during the 2017-18 school year.
