Marshfield Junior Legion baseball drops doubleheader to Plover

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Post 54 Junior Legion baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader as it opened its home schedule Friday against Plover at Jack Hackman Field.

Plover won 6-0 and 12-6 to knock the Junior Blue Devils to a 2-2 record.

In the first game, Marshfield was held to one hit, a single by Riley Bauman, and committed six errors in the loss.

Plover scored five runs in the top of the first inning and led 7-0 after two before Marshfield rallied with a five-run third inning.

Plover put the game away with a five-run sixth inning.

Devyn Palmer had a single and a triple, and Will Fetting drove in two runs for Marshfield.

The Blue Devils host Stevens Point for a doubleheader Monday.
