MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Junior American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader against Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday night at Jack Hackman Field.
The Blue Devils won 3-2 and 10-3 to improve to 8-5 this summer.
Alejandro Anaya had an RBI double to score Devyn Palmer with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning of the opening game.
Ty Pankratz threw 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball to earn the win. He struck out four. Adam Zee also added an RBI for the Blue Devils.
In Game 2, Marshfield scored four times in the first inning and never trailed.
Palmer went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, and two RBIs, and Pankratz was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs, and two RBIs for Marshfield.
Logan Griesbach and Carsten Jirschele each added a pair of RBIs in the victory.
Marshfield will compete at the Antigo Junior Legion Tournament on Friday through Sunday.
