Marshfield Senior Legion doubles up D.C. Everest

WESTON – The Marshfield Post 54 American Legion Senior baseball team won its fifth game in a row, downing D.C. Everest 6-3 in a Wisconsin Valley Legion League matchup Wednesday at D.C. Everest High School.

After starting the season 0-4, the Blue Devils are now 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the WVLL.

Marshfield pulled ahead 4-0 after a three-run second inning. After Everest pulled to within a run, Marshfield scored twice in the top of the sixth to provide the final margin.

Connor Jasurda earned the win, striking out six in four innings of relief.

Ryan Krueger led the Marshfield offense, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and he drove in five of the Blue Devils’ six runs. Logan Matson had a double and Marshfield’s other RBI.

Riley Boushack and Eli Drexler each added a pair of hits for Marshfield.

Marshfield hosts Antigo on Thursday.
