EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield Post 54 Senior Legion baseball team won its opening game at the Eau Claire Tournament, downing the Green Bay Shockers 5-2 on Friday night at Carson Park.
Marshfield (15-7) used a four-run fifth inning to erase a 2-0 deficit, and added a run in the sixth to finish off the victory.
Riley Boushack hit a two-run home run to tie the game at 2-2. Eli Drexler followed with a walk and Ryan Krueger had a double, before Devin Toburen delivered a sacrifice fly and Dakota Landphier had an RBI double to make it 4-2.
Ben Gust doubled with one out in the sixth and pinch runner Connor Jasurda scored on a ground out by Boushack to finish the scoring.
Mason Coffren threw a complete game for the Blue Devils, striking out seven and allowing five hits.
Play continues at the three-day tournament on Saturday.
