WAUSAU – A five-run second inning helped push Wausau to a 9-6 win over Marshfield Post 54 in a Junior American Legion baseball game Thursday night at Athletic Park.
Marshfield (14-10) led 2-1 before the five-run second by Wausau.
Wausau bumped its lead to 9-2 before the Blue Devils scored four times in the fifth inning, but couldn’t get any closer.
Riley Bauman, Ty Pankratz and Nick Urban each had two hits, and Pankratz drove in a pair of runs, for Marshfield.
Marshfield hosts La Crosse in its opening game of its home tournament on Friday night.
