PLOVER – The Marshfield Junior American Legion baseball team saw its season come to an end, suffering an 11-1 loss to Oshkosh in an elimination game at the 2018 Wisconsin 17-U American Legion State Tournament at Memorial Field.
Marshfield’s season ends with a 21-16 record, while Oshkosh stays alive and will play again Monday.
Oshkosh scored a run in the first, three more in the second and another in the fourth to pile up a 5-0 lead.
After Marshfield scored its only run in the fourth, Oshkosh put the game away with a five-run sixth.
Devyn Palmer and Nick Urban each had two hits, and Parker Weik drove in Urban with a double for the Blue Devils’ only run.
