MENOMONIE – The Marshfield girls swim team had one first-place finish and two runner-ups as it placed seventh at the Menomonie Relay Invitational on Saturday.
The Tigers finished with 262 points to take last place, but had a number of solid performances in their second meet of the season. Host Menomonie won the team title with 502 points, just eight points ahead of second-place Chippewa Falls.
Kaitlin Alberts, Tara Kracht, Alyssa Franks and Hope Risa teamed to win the 500-yard freestlye crescendo relay for Marshfield in a time of 5:21.62.
Risa, Kracht and Kaitlin Alberts finished second in the 300 individual medley relay in 3:32.10, and Franks, Kracht, Risa, and Alberts took second in the 200 breaststroke relay in 2:29.17 for the Tigers.
Marshfield will host its home invitational on Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Black River Falls, Colby/Abbotsford, Medford, Merrill, Rhinelander, Sparta, and Tomahawk will be competing at the meet.
