HOLMEN – The Marshfield boys soccer team opened its 2018 season with a 5-1 loss at Holmen on Tuesday.

Marshfield scored first on a penalty kick by Isaac Wellens 8:37 into the game, but Holmen responded with five unanswered goals after the Tigers were given a red card at the six-minute mark and had to play the remainder of the game with 10 players.

Tommy Olson finished with six saves in goal for the Tigers.

Marshfield plays at Tomah on Friday.
