Marshfield volleyball loses all three matches at home tournament

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team opened its 2018 season going 0-3 at its home quadrangular tournament on Tuesday at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers lost to Wausau Newman Catholic, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13; Hudson 25-12, 25-10; and Antigo 27-25, 28-26.

Antigo won the tournament by winning all three of its matches. Newman Catholic defeated Hudson to finish second.

Karly Nikolai had 12 kills, and Brooklyn Boushack had 10 kills and three blocks for the Tigers.

Bailey Matis had 26 assists, Taylor Barwick had 17 assists, Kaydee Johnson had 28 digs, and Lindsey Steffen had 23 digs and three service aces for Marshfield. Kati Sadowska had a team-high four aces.

Marshfield will compete at the Sun Prairie Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
