LOYAL – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team, the reigning Cloverbelt Conference East Division champion, began its 2018 season with a bang as it swept three matches at the Loyal Quadrangular Tournament on Tuesday.
The Dons beat Rib Lake 25-16, 25-18; Loyal 23-25, 25-18, 15-5; and Osseo-Fairchild 25-20, 25-21.
Kate Turchi and Kenzie Hansen each had 16 kills, Maren Seefluth had 18 digs, Annie Baierl added 16 digs, and setter Brooke Neider had 59 assists in the three matches for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic returns to action Thursday, Aug. 30, with a nonconference match at last year’s Marawood Conference South Division champion Stratford.
