MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls swim team opened its home schedule with its 2nd annual Chase the Tiger Invitational on Wednesday at Marshfield High School.
Tomahawk won five of the 11 events to finish first in the team standings with 199.5 points. Medford was second with 185 and Marshfield took fifth with 127 points.
Marshfield won a pair of events. Alyssa Franks, Kaitlin Alberts, Tara Kracht and Hope Risa won the 100-yard freestyle in 53.62 seconds and the same four girls finished first in the 100 medley relay with a time of 59.79 seconds.
Kracht took third in the 50 breaststroke in 35.70 seconds and Alberts finished fifth in the 50 backstroke in 31.00 seconds for Marshfield’s two other top-five finishes.
Marshfield is off until Sept. 6 when it begins its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet schedule at D.C. Everest. The Tigers’ next home meet is Sept. 13 against Stevens Point.
