SUN PRAIRIE – The Marshfield volleyball team picked up its first two wins of the season on Saturday at the Sun Prairie Invitational to finish seventh overall at the two-day tournament.
Marshfield lost to Luxemburg-Casco 25-20, 25-21, and Beaver Dam 25-12, 25-23, before defeating De Pere 25-17, 18-25, 15-12, and Madison Edgewood 25-15, 25-23, to finish 2-7 at the tournament.
Karly Nikolai had 27 kills, and Lindsey Steffen added 16 kills and six service aces for the Tigers. Taylor Barwick led Marshfield with 67 assists, Kaydee Johnson had a team-high 45 digs, and Kati Sadowska added 23 digs.
Marshfield will open its Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule Thursday at home against Wisconsin Rapids.
