WAUSAU – Marshfield’s Morgan Meyer and Anna Weis each shot a 54 to finish in a three-way tie for 10th place at the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament, which was held Tuesday at Greenwood Hills Country Club. The meet was hosted by D.C. Everest.
Wausau West/East’s Jasmine Yang shot a 38 to win medalist honors, winning by four shots over Abby Nickel of Stevens Point.
Stevens Point had its five golfers finish in second through sixth, to easily win the team title with a score of 182, 26 shots better than West/East.
Marshfield was fifth among the five teams for the second-straight conference meet, shooting a 237, 14 shots behind fourth-place D.C. Everest.
Leia Linzmeier had a 64, Bryssa Lens shot a 65, and Paige Bulgrin had a 73 to round out the scoring for the Tigers.
The third leg of the tournament will be Thursday at Pine Valley Golf Course in Marathon. Wausau West/East is the host school.
