EAU CLAIRE – Kallie Mayer shot a 46 and Maggie Field fired a 49 to lift the Marshfield girls golf team to a fourth-place finish Thursday in the third round of the Clover Valley Conference round-robin at Mill Run Golf Club.
The Tigers braved the wind and rain to shoot a 206. Eau Claire Regis won the meet on its home course, shooting a 181, six shots better than Osseo-Fairchild. Stevens Point was third with a 191.
Savannah Shortess had a 55, and Macy Fitzgerald and Sara Sturomski each had 56s for Marshfield.
Katie Pokrandt of Regis shot a 40 to earn medalist honors. Addie Vold and Emily Mallek of Stevens Point tied for second with 42s.
“I am incredibly proud of the girls,” Marshfield coach Jenessa Bonikowske said. “They are working hard and seeing improvement every day.”
Marshfield is at Neillsville on Tuesday as it has just three meets remaining before the Clover Valley Conference Meet at Pine Valley Golf Course in Marathon on Sept. 23.
