NEKOOSA – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team went a perfect 3-0 to win the Nekoosa Invitational on Saturday at Nekoosa High School.
The Dons beat Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 29-27, 25-16; Pittsville 23-25, 25-6, 25-8; and Nekoosa 25-21, 25-20, to take the championship.
Brooke Neider had 70 assists and seven service aces, Annie Baierl had 33 digs, and Maren Seefluth had 22 kills, 28 digs, and four aces for Columbus Catholic.
Kate Turchi added 21 kills and 14 digs, Katie Hall had a team-high 10 service aces and 17 digs, and Jess Jakopin chipped in 12 kills for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic will open its Cloverbelt Conference East Division schedule at home against Loyal on Thursday.
