MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield freshman football team earned its first win of the season, downing Wausau West 12-8 on Thursday at Columbus Catholic High School.
Chase Hinson had a 4-yard touchdown run and Christian Chin returned an interception 80 yards for another score for the Tigers (1-2).
Derek Gust, Franklin Brodhagen and Ryan Dolezal led Marshfield in tackles, with Brodhagen also recovering a fumble and Ryken Kolbeck adding an interception.
Marshfield hosts Wausau East next Thursday, Sept. 20, at 5 p.m. at Beell Stadium.
