MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team bounced back from three losses at a tournament Saturday to shutout Gresham/Bowler 5-0 in a Central Wisconsin Conference match Monday at Griese Park.
The win extends the Dons’ undefeated streak in the CWC to eight as they improve to 7-0-1 and remain tied for the conference lead with Northland Lutheran. G/B is now 1-8 overall and 1-5 in the CWC.
Nadim Torbey and Kellen Delaney scored in the first half, and Delaney, Kevin Nguyen and Torbey closed out the shutout win with goals in the second half for Columbus (9-4-1 overall).
Torbey assisted on two of the goals, with Zach Olson, Nguyen and Addison Baierl adding assists in the victory.
Columbus Catholic is back in action Thursday with another CWC game at Wisconsin Valley Lutheran.
