RHINELANDER – Marshfield’s No. 2 doubles team of Emily Weis and Lauren Weigel kept its postseason alive at the WIAA Division 1 girls tennis subsectional on Tuesday at Rhinelander High School.
Weis and Weigel won two matches Tuesday to advance to the Division 1 sectional at Eau Claire Memorial on Wednesday. The Tigers’ duo will have to win its flight to earn an automatic bid to next week’s 2018 WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Tournament in Madison.
Weis and Weigel are now 12-6 this season. Match results were not provided.
All of Marshfield’s four singles players and the other two doubles teams were eliminated from the postseason.
