MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic needed just one half of its game Monday to put away Tri-County in a Central Wisconsin Conference match at Griese Park.

The Dons scored six goals in the first half and the officials decided to end it right there due to muddy field conditions and call it a complete game.

Kellen Heinzen had two goals, Nadim Torbey added two goals and three assists, and Evan Dieringer and Kellen Delaney added the Dons’ other goals in the win.

Columbus Catholic improves to 11-4-1 overall and remains in first place in the CWC with a 9-0-1 mark with two games remaining. The Dons play at Stevens Point Pacelli at 7 p.m. Tuesday and will return to Stevens Point for a game against Amherst/Iola-Scandinavia/Rosholt at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

The WIAA playoffs begin next week with pairings and brackets to be announced later this week.
